The Aries New Moon signifies the astrological new year. The sun moves from the final sign of the zodiac into the first.

From the dissolving water of Pisces, the sun emerges hot and reignited into Aries, ready to take us on another journey through another year.

This year, we have TWO New Moons in Aries. Which, is kind of a big deal!

  1. Two new moons in the same sign is always a meaningful moment of reinforcing a particular sign’s energy
  2. Both new moons in Aries sort of gives us two new years days, two opportunities to start a fresh, new chapter of our lives
  3. The first occurs at 0º of Aries, the second at 29º Aries, which are significant degrees in astrology and represent the two degrees at which the sign is most powerful/forceful

Big stuff!

Now, New Years Eve is my absolute favorite holiday. I LOVE the celebration, the sense of promise, and all the traditions my family enjoys.

So, the astrological New Year is like my second-Christmas (although there’s not the same party atmosphere for me…yet! Maybe I’ll host a astrological New Year’s Eve party one of these days 🤔)

Anyway…

Let’s talk through each New Moon individually and see how we can use this astrological moment to set ourselves up for a dope-ass year.

This series of lunations is important for EVERYONE!

And, if you’ve got an Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn Sun, Moon, Rising, Midheaven, or North Node placement, you cannot miss this opportunity.

Aries New Moon – March 21 2023 1:23 EST

Aries is the infant baby of the zodiac, whose needs are URGENT (like a baby).

The little flower buds and all that green growth that comes after winter seem to sprout up so URGENTLY from the ground, finally feeling free to stretch out and doing so with ferocity.

With an Aries New Moon, there’s this same urgency present. There’s no more time to waste; we’ve waited long enough. It’s GO TIME.

This is the time to set goals and intentions!! New Years resolutions are OUT, Aries New Moon intentions are IN.

What do you want to build in life? What do you want more of? What are your URGENT needs? What itch are you desperately ready to finally scratch? Where do you want to be in 6 months? In one year? (No need to look further ahead than that, Aries prefers short to mid-range goals). What would need to change in your current life to get you there?

Make a list of any goals, ideas, intentions, dreams, or resolutions you want to add to your life. If you get stuck, just set a 5 minute timer and brain dump it out. Sometimes our deepest desires are hidden under the surface and only accessible by writing without judgement.

Read through what you’ve written and notice any common threads, repeated words or ideas, or any thing that surprises you or lights you up.

There is a lot of potential for starting something new, and depending on where this falls in your birth chart, you could see something that’s been hiding under the surface emerging quickly into existence.

The whole Aries brand is about beginnings. What are you starting?

This new moon asks you to be VERY CLEAR on what you’d like, because the next New Moon is listening (and you may not be able to revise your wishlist).

Aries New Moon Eclipse – April 20 12:12am EST

This second Aries New Moon is an Eclipse, which is not great for manifestation.

Eclipses bring forth what MUST happen, and if we’re trying to impose our will on the universe, the universe is gonna laugh in our faces a bit and just do what it’s gonna do.

So it can feel like any attempt to manifest or set intentions backfires!

But really, what’s happening is that we puny little humans don’t know what the future holds and sometimes we’re too stubborn or short-sighted to see what we need, so the universe is just like LOOK THIS IS WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN OK, and it’s already happening so come along for the ride.

So, if you missed the manifestation-train on March 21, that’s ok. Don’t try to do that now; just be open to what comes your way.

Again, eclipses bring forth what MUST happen, so that can come through amazing opportunities, life transformation, new people in our lives, etc.

Sometimes it’s just what we’ve been hoping for and it feels destined, fated, and like everything is finally aligning.

Aaaaand sometimes, these same things can be terrifying, uncomfortable, difficult, etc. Things that you can only appreciate with time and hindsight.

This is a time of powerful transformation.

Are you a caterpillar that’s psyched to turn into goo in the chrysalis, or are you digging your heels refusing to go along with the laws of nature?

In typical newborn Aries style, things may feel really URGENT at this time, and there could be power dynamics at play, or a battle between what you need as an individual vs. your duty/responsibility in the roles you inhabit.

I see this New Moon as something that will pay of long term BIG TIME, but it might feel a little scratchy in the moment.

Lean into the Aries energy of pressing forward without inhibitions or influence from others and looking after yourself. You may not be able to control what happens, but you can choose to keep moving forward instead of staying stuck and stagnant in what is no longer serving you.

What did you think? Tell me in the comments what YOU want to build with this New Moon and I’ll share some support and encouragement!

Thank you for reading! All my love,

Laura Quintero
