On my first call with Lisa, I knew I was working with someone special. Gearing up for her Vienna, Virginia spa’s 17 year anniversary, which she founded after a full career in the corporate world, she was ready to capture the vibe of the amazing retreat she had built in the community.
IDENTIFYING THE GAPS
Sesen Spa had invested in some gorgeous product and modeled photography to showcase the world of their excellent nail technicians, which grace the walls of the spa and capture the luxury of the services offered.
But after a full spa renovation and some reflection, Lisa came to me with the desire to capture the vibes.
She wanted photos to capture the beauty of the space and the way clients feel when they enter and as they enjoy their service.
Finally, the paramedical procedure was in desperate need of images as they approached the official launch. They wanted to show the knowledge and expertise involved in the service, and emphasize how this service goes beyond just “pampering” or a fresh coat of polish.
OUR PLAN
Across two half-day shoots, we planned to capture the different services offered at Sesen Spa while emphasizing their experience, luxurious vibe, and calming ambiance.
With the help of loyal clients as models, we captured their facial services, skin consultations, the shop, and paramedical pedicures.
As you look through these photos, notice how soothing and clean everything looks! Notice how each client feature looks at ease and natural in whatever capacity they’re captured. Notice how jealous you get as you wish you were in the seat or on the massage table yourself!

Faceless images here help clients imagine themselves in the seat, especially for a service that might bring up feelings of embarrassment and shame.
And, showing feet that need this level of care (instead of picture-perfect feet) gives folks permission to seek the treatment they need!
